DJI OSMO Action 3
DJI has been actively researching action cameras in recent years. This time, the OSMO Action 3 adopts the original design, which has changed back to the conventional one, and no longer uses a split body. As for the shooting specifications, it is the same as the previous generation, up to 4K@120fps. It has a total of RockSteady, Horizon Balancing and Horizon Steady. Among them, Super Steady is most suitable for starting from a first-person perspective and can cancel all vibrations. The latter two modes can be shot on the bicycle handle to reduce the tilt of the picture.

GoPro Hero 11 Black and DJI OSMO Action 3 test
TEST 01: Picture quality
In terms of detail, GoPro Hero 11 Black is indeed slightly better than OSMO Action 3. Whether it is the texture of leaves or stones, it can be clearly presented, which is more solid. The Hero 11 Black performs well in highlights, clearly showing the white clouds in the sky and their layers. On the other hand, OSMO Action 3 is acceptable in highlight. Although it can restore to blue sky and white clouds, the level is not enough.
As for the dark level, Hero 11 Black can display the details of the black level, especially the outline of the leaf pile. But OSMO Action 3 can’t do it, and the black-level objects can’t be fully presented.
TEST 02: Color
There are quite obvious differences in this test. The color of Hero 11 Black is relatively light, the color of OSMO Action 3 is high, and the contrast ratio of the two is similar. Combining color, detail, and face analysis, the author believes that if you just love to shoot scenery, Hero 11 Black is worth considering, but if you want to appear on the camera to record your life, or be a Vlogger, OSMO Action 3 will be more suitable.
OSMO Action 3 seems to have a layer of filters, which makes the screen feel like an automatic beauty. When it comes to beauty, I think that OSMO Action 3 will automatically help me beautify my face. I can see that half of the acne has been removed on the screen, making the skin whiter. And Hero 11 Black is to restore the real self, without whitening.
Both the Hero 11 Black and OSMO Action 3 have a straight shot mode, but the actual approach is quite different. The Hero 11 Black has a different shooting ratio, while the OSMO Action 3 uses the quick-release mode, which changes from horizontal shooting to straight shooting. Users need to change the shooting mode of Hero 11 Black to Full Frame, and you will see a 5.3K@30fps 8:7 ratio, which actually allows us to edit in post-production, making it easier to make vertical videos or change to 16:9 video output.
