Be quiet! The Silent Wings 4 / Silent Wings Pro 4 fan has been improved and offers more variety

BQFAN.

In July 2022, be quiet! launched a new series of fans called the Silent Wings 4 and Silent Wings Pro 4. These fans are specially designed for use in computer cases, air-cooled towers, and water-cooled radiators. They not only provide high airflow and wind pressure but also feature a modular fan corner design that allows for easy replacement with different keyhole corners, depending on the desired usage and positioning. The fan blades, blade tails, and fan frames have undergone changes, including a reduction in the pitch of the airflow from 1.2mm in the previous Silent Wings 3 series to 1mm. The funnel-shaped air intake has also been altered to direct airflow, allowing for improved air distribution.

The Silent Wings Pro 4 series is available in two sizes, 12cm, and 14cm, both with identical features. The exterior features the distinctive be quiet! design, with a low-key, silent black color scheme used throughout the fan blades and frame.

Silent Wings Pro 4 has launched two sizes of 12cm / 14cm.
In addition to the size of the body, the appearance part is only different in the number of fan blades.

The Silent Wings Pro 4 series fans come with a three-stage speed adjustment switch located on the back of the fan shaft, near the six-pole motor and fluid dynamic bearing (FDB). Users can easily adjust the fan speed to match their needs and noise tolerance, with speeds ranging from 1600 RPM (medium) to 2500 RPM (high) to 3000 RPM (ultra-high) for the 12cm size, and from 1100 RPM (medium) to 1900 RPM (high) to 2400 RPM (ultra-high) for the 14cm size.

There are three-speed gears on the back of Silent Wings Pro 4, the leftmost is medium speed.
Users can judge the current speed through M/HS/UHS, the middle is high-speed.
Since the switch is set on the back of the fan, it is recommended that players switch it before installing the computer. The right side is ultra-high-speed.

The Silent Wings Pro 4 series fans do not come with lighting effects such as RGB, and are powered through a PWM 4-Pin fan connection. The fan speed can be adjusted using either the BIOS or software, allowing users to set the fan curve to their desired specifications.

With this fan update, be quiet! has reduced the distance between the fan blades and frame, and the funnel-shaped air outlet on the frame has been designed to improve the fan’s air pressure performance. The four corners of the fan come pre-installed with the water-cooled row lock, a unique feature of the Silent Wings Pro 4 series. This keyhole corner design is specifically for use with a water-cooling radiator, a feature not found in the Silent Wings 4 series.

Silent Wings Pro 4’s fan blade tail is closer to the fan frame, which can have a stronger wind pressure performance.

The side of the fan is embossed with the be quiet! logo and the air flow direction, making it easy for even those new to fan installation to determine the proper installation direction. Simply refer to the embossment on the side of the fan for guidance.

Refer to the air flow direction, which is easy for players who don’t understand the operation of fans to identify.

One of the standout features of the Silent Wings Pro 4 series is the ability to switch between three different types of modular corners, making it suitable for a range of different usage scenarios and installation equipment. In addition to the pre-installed keyhole corners for water cooling radiators, there are also two types of rubber and plastic corners available with varying functions.

If the Silent Wings Pro 4 fan is being used as a case cooling fan, players can use plastic push-pins for quick and easy installation. However, it is strongly recommended to install the fan using push-pins when building the case, as removing the fan without push-pins can be difficult. Additionally, soft rubber gaskets are included to minimize the potential for fan resonance or damage.

Additional accessories for Silent Wings Pro 4 provide two additional sets of keyhole corners, as well as plastic Push-Pins.

The plastic corners used for positioning the case fan have the letters “S” and “L” engraved on them. The “S” in the flat direction stands for decoupled and high pressure, meaning high air pressure. The convex “L” represents high air volume and quiet operation. Users can switch between the two modes for dual installation options depending on their desired wind flow.

The installation direction of S at the bottom is plane; otherwise, the installation direction of L code is convex.
There are two push-type buckles on the fan frame, which can be replaced with different lock hole corners.
The left side is the plastic corner; the right side is the corner of the pre-installed water cooling radiator keyhole.

The standard rubber corners are intended for use with air-cooled radiators. If someone wants to upgrade the down-blowing radiator or tower fan with a more high-performance Silent Wings Pro 4 fan, they can use these rubber corners.

The left side is Standard corners. The rubber corners are much smaller.

Silent Wings 4 is available in two sizes, 14cm and 12cm, and has a similar appearance to the Silent Wings Pro 4 series. It features a shortened distance between the fan blade and the fan frame, improving its wind pressure performance. However, it does not have the adjustable speed switch on the back of the fan that the Silent Wings Pro 4 series has. Instead, it comes in three different performance levels with different speeds.

Silent Wings 4 is also available in 14cm and 12cm.
There is no adjustable speed switch on the back.

Silent Wings 4 does not have the water cooling radiator keyhole corners that are available on the Silent Wings Pro 4, making it less suitable for water cooling setups. It only comes with standard rubber corners and pre-installed plastic corners for case fan installation. However, it is still a good option for those who are looking for a balance of performance and silence in a case fan setup.

Silent Wings 4 comes pre-assembled with plastic corners.
Accessories only provide an additional set of Standard corners rubber corners and Push-Pins.

Silent Wings 4 PWM unpacked version requires a PWM 4-Pin power supply interface, while the DC 3-Pin power supply interface requires the purchase of the Silent Wings 4 model. The fan frame is also embossed with wind direction, allowing players to confirm the correct wind direction before fixing the fan. The accessory box includes Standard corners rubber corners and pre-installed plastic corners.

Summarize

be quiet.

At the same time, the new fan series also has a three-stage speed adjustment switch on the back of the motor to adjust the speed according to the use scenario and noise tolerance, and the new funnel-shaped fan frame enhances the fan’s air pressure performance. The fans come with different types of modular corners for different usage scenarios, including rubber and plastic corners for radiators or case fans. The fans also have a PWM 4-Pin power supply interface and have the wind direction embossed on the frame for easier installation.

Both Silent Wings 4 and Silent Wings Pro 4 are designed to provide good heat dissipation and quiet performance. However, the Silent Wings Pro 4 has more features such as three different design corners, adjustable RPM upper limit and water-cooling radiator compatibility, making it more versatile. Silent Wings 4 is more cost-effective and still provides good performance, making it suitable for those with budget constraints.
